Millwind was started in the beginning of 1999. Our main goal was to provide short run cd-r duplication for bands and for some multimedia/software companies. When people started asking about cd burners and blank media, we started selling the equipment and the supplies also. Now going back to the main reason this company got started. In the early 90's, I played in a alternative rock band called Marcus Noise and we did alright. We sold tapes at shows, and had some t-shirts for sale. Someone even put out a record for us on a 7" inch slab of vinyl. Well CD's were the way to go, but for 1000 cds it was two thousand dollars. Plus studio time and all the other costs involved it did not look good. So we took out a loan and went for it. Well first the bass player quit, so we got another one and decided to put out the CD anyway. Well shortly after shelling out the $2000, the drummer quit and I had about eight hundred CD's left. So I got out of the music business and started to work towards other goals. I ended up in the printing industry and one day hooked up to my computer was a 4x CD Burner. I looked into the multiple burners, called all my old music buddies and asked to see if this was worth doing. Everbody thought it was cool and I put some money into the equipment. Millwind was born.
