Having played together since 2005, AnaKataCombo has developed a solid musical catalog with a sound that is fun, groovy, and energized with the power of solid rock. This band consistently keeps audiences captivated and cheering for more.

AnaKataCombo began in Spring 2005 as a creative ensemble at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Andrew found Jason who had known Mark for years and a happy partnership was quickly born. The band’s current roster was put together after much cover-band juggling and the loss of more than a few drummers. Cole and Joe, who had been performing together for some time, were recruited to complete the band you hear today. Personalities and musical sensibilities clicked soundly into place.

AnaKataCombo strives to create and perform music that people will love. Their music is meant to inspire people as much as keep them in that lounge-rockin’ mood. Without a dominant social or political agenda, the band presents positive and interesting notions of life, love, self-realization, superheroes, and extra-dimensional travel. Nerds at heart, AnaKataCombo draws inspiration from a wide variety of favorite artists as well as from fantastical books and movies, role-playing and video games, comic-books, as well as various life experience which may or may not include time travel and slaying of the undead.

What does the future hold for AnaKataCombo? The band’s 2008 cd release, If Once, is being marketed to an adoring public around the clock and the band is currently promoting their hearts out through live shows and the internet. Regional and College tours are in the works and other aspirations include performing in Japan, touring Europe, and being the first band to hold a concert on the moon. In the immediate future, AnaKataCombo will be able to be seen several times a month at various venues around the twin cities. With a refreshing original sound, a wealth of musical talent, and the faculties to breed man-eating squid, this band is definitely one to watch.
