Bob Nordquist and The Intangibles

The Intangibles pull in influences from rock, blues, folk, jazz, Latin, Eastern European, Native American and classical music. Lead Intangible Bob Nordquist has just released his third solo CD, Kettle River. This is a series of folk songs recorded live outdoors, on the banks of the Kettle River. These are songs about the woods and people of Northern MN. The Intangibles CD, The Animal Within was released at an event at the Cedar Cultural Center. It received rave reviews from The Onion and City Pages both of which compared the album to Pink Floyd.

As the name implies, when you come to an Intangibles show, you never know what you will get. The band is currently supporting Bob Nordquist’s recent folk release with an acoustic line up featuring banjo, washboard, guitars, bass, drum kit and Native American flute. At rock venues the organ, electric guitars, drums, and hand percussion section join in for a complete and amazing sound.
