Pat Dougherty is a multi-instrumentalist who came from a blues-rock backround. After leaving a rock band he began to experiement with jazz trios and experiemtnal sound scape bands. His live shows were mainly improved. In fact, his first album was a series of improvised tracks named Soliloquies. After a couple of years, he abandoned his usual song writing style to enter yet another genre, folk. With elements of all genres in his writing, Pat Dougherty's songs at times sound like they came from an era before his time.
