Half Act joined forces in 2003 at Saint John’s University as Mike Fluto and Joe Marinac formed an acoustic duo that was heavily called upon to entertain the college crowd. They were selected to be featured on the SJU compilation album put out by the campus record label CGR (Campus Groove Recordings). In 2004, they frequented bars in the St. Joseph and St. Cloud area and found drummer Justin Ashton when Mike moved to the Cities. With the help of friends Quietdrive (formerly Sneaker2Bombs) of Epic Records, they recorded a 4-track demo to expand their fan base and play in the Twin Cities area. Since the release of the 4-track demo, Half Act has added bassist David LeDuc to complete their sound and have become a regular act at several bars around the Twin Cities area.
