Tripolar is a group that is hoping to stand out on the Twin Cities music scene. The group is keyboardist Jonathan Haage (The Good Foot S.D.), Bassist Al Vorse (Sacred Ground Beef, Vulvox) and Drummer Wade Huber (Sacred Ground Beef, Diamond Studded Brain). Tired of loud fuzzy guitars, Vorse wanted to explore the sounds of keyboard oriented jazz and funk groups like Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Medeski Martin and Wood, and Philadelphia Experiment. Huber followed Al over from the defunct prog-rock group Sacred Ground Beef. The rhythm section was fortunate to meet up with like minded keyboardist Haage. The group likes mixing interactive improv and jazz harmonies on top of polyrhythmic funk. Formed in 2005, Tripolar are looking to hit the Twin Cities scene and let music fans know, you don't need guitars to make a statement, or shake your booty! |
